About Mindful Bees Learning
A Thoughtful Approach to Literacy and Learning
Mindful Bees Learning was created to support children who need reading instruction that is both structured and supportive.
Many children struggle with reading not because they lack ability, but because they need the right teaching approach, patience, and consistent support.
Mindful Bees Learning focuses on helping children build strong literacy foundations while also developing confidence, focus, and emotional awareness. Sessions are designed to meet students where they are and help them grow step by step.
Through personalized instruction and guided practice, students receive the support they need to strengthen reading skills while developing a positive relationship with learning.
Meet the Founder
Lauren Blair
Mindful Bees Learning was founded by Lauren Blair, an educator with over 15 years of experience working with children and families.
Lauren holds a Master of Education from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Howard University. Her work centers on helping children strengthen literacy skills while also supporting their confidence, emotional development, and love of learning.
In addition to her academic training, Lauren has completed extensive certification in mindfulness and movement-based learning practices that support children's focus and emotional regulation.
Her training includes:
• 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification
• 90-hour Children's Yoga Certification focused on supporting students and teachers in learning environments
• Certification training in Social Emotional Learning and Restorative Justice practices
• 500-hour Advanced Yoga Certification with a focus on holistic yoga and community wellness
These practices help Lauren create learning environments that are calm, supportive, and encouraging for students who may feel frustrated or discouraged with traditional learning settings.
The Mindful Bees Philosophy
Lauren believes that literacy instruction should support the whole child.
Strong reading instruction helps children develop academic skills, but it can also build confidence, resilience, and independence.
Mindful Bees Learning blends evidence-based literacy instruction with mindful learning practices to create an environment where children feel supported as they develop new skills.
Students are encouraged to approach learning with curiosity and confidence, knowing that mistakes are part of the learning process.
Supporting Families as Partners
Mindful Bees Learning views literacy support as a partnership between tutor, student, and family.
Parents receive insight into their child’s learning progress and guidance on how to support reading development at home.
Students benefit from:
• individualized literacy instruction
• guided practice between sessions
• structured progress monitoring
• encouragement that builds confidence
This collaborative approach helps students grow into more confident readers while creating a positive learning experience.
A Commitment to Community
Mindful Bees Learning believes every child deserves access to strong literacy support.
Each month, one family is selected to receive a Community Literacy Scholarship, providing three months of virtual tutoring support.
This program allows Mindful Bees Learning to extend literacy instruction to families who may need additional support while continuing to build a strong learning community.
